Overview
A photo editor lives or dies on how fast it feels. People expect a filter or a crop to update the moment they touch it, even on large, high-resolution photos straight from the camera roll.
As a Senior Mobile App Developer at Yarsa Labs, I lead development of this app: an editor with AI-assisted tools such as smart cropping, filters and background removal, built natively for iPhone.
Built a full-featured photo editing app with AI-driven tools including smart cropping, filters, and background removal using Core Image and VisionKit. Integrated PhotosUI and ImageIO for seamless photo library access and enhancements. Delivered significant performance gains in image rendering and helped scale the app to a large user base.
What I did
- Leading the iOS development of the app from feature planning to App Store release
- Building the editing pipeline on Core Image and the AI tools on VisionKit
- Profiling and optimizing image rendering so edits preview smoothly
- Reviewing code and mentoring junior developers on the team
